MEET BUENA PARK MAYOR

SUNNY PARK
Sunny Park is Mayor of Buena Park, a mother, an immigrant, an attorney and a member of the Orange County Fire Authority.
Sunny Park is the first AAPI woman to serve as Mayor of Buena Park, unanimously elected by her colleagues in 2021. She also serves on the Community Economics and Housing Development Committee of the Southern California Associations of Governments. Previously, Sunny served as a State Commissioner on the California Board of Accountancy, regulating certified public accountants licensed to practice in California. As an attorney, she has provided free legal services to Orange County working families, immigrants and other vulnerable members of our community.
For her tireless efforts to make our local community better and working closely with people in need, Sunny received the Presidential Gold Medal for Volunteerism from former U.S. President Barack Obama.

As Mayor of Buena Park, Sunny has focused on reducing homelessness, helping local businesses, creating new jobs and combating climate change by prioritizing renewable energy.
During the pandemic, she took the lead in protecting the rights of renters and working families, provided assistance to help local small businesses, and has worked closely with local firefighters, paramedics and other frontline workers to protect our most vulnerable residents.

Sunny Park is an of-counsel attorney at Asher Law Group representing many families in estate planning and probate matters. Ms. Park earned her LL.M. in Tax Law from New York University School of Law, her J.D. degree from Golden Gate University School of Law, and her B.A. degree from Yonsei University (연세대학교).
